XC Tracer Maxx Firmware Changelog R01: Initial release R02: Wind is now correctly displayed. Added option to set a time for switching back from Thermal Screen. Added option to have speed over ground also displayed in Thermal Screen. R03: Improved code for automatic switching from / to Thermal Screen. Flarm Serial Number is now also displayed in device info. Other small improvements incorporated. R04: Added option to switch the screens with tapping on the side of the vario. Set SingleDoubleTap in screen settings, then tapping on the carabiner of the pod harness will change the screen. Like this it is possible to easily change the screens without ever having to release the brakes. Other small improvements incorporated. R05: Deactivated the autoSwitchOff feature. The vario will now work and send a Flarm beacon as long as the battery has more than 3300mV. Added option to set metric or imperial units. Improved Sensor Data Fusion code. Fixed a small bug, when flying the sound is no longer muted after changing the settings. R06: A beeping sound is made every 15min to remind the pilot that the vario is still switched on. This beeping sound is only made when not flying. R07_RC01: First beta release with airspaces integrated. Create a folder "Airspace" on the SD card of Maxx, and download the airspace of your choice from https://airspace.xcontest.org/. Copy then airspaces.bin into the "Airspace" folder, don't change the name of the file. In settings go to "Airspace" and choose the options. Warnings are not yet linked in the code, will in due time. R07_RC11: Added option to modify buddy name when adding a buddy out in the field. Improved wind estimation. Baro calibration is only made when there are no high g's present. New standard and thermal screens, easier to read. Faster loading of airspaces. Warning can now get defined for airspaces, but code is not yet linked to sound. Multiple long clicks are now supported, simply press and hold the button while changing the settings. R07_RC16: Show and forward all traffic. HG/PG are shown as dots, all other flying objects equipped with Flarm are shown as blinking dots. This info is also fowarded over BLE, so that apps can show all Flarm devices on the screen. Collision alarm with flying objects is not enabled. When Flarm licence or obstacle licence is expired this is now shown in device info. Apps can now request the Flarm ID over BLE, useful for live tracking services. Integrated BLE remote control. R07_RC24: Modified the output of LXWP0, so that QNE altitude is used. Modified algorithm for calculating buddy position. Distance to airspace is now in correct units. Acoustic warnings for airspaces integrated. Airspace aware show time is now 4-12s Distance is now correctly displayed when flying out of airspace R07_RC29: Airspace top view fixed when flying in an airspace. Obstacle alarm deactivated when riding up in a cable car Buddy screen has now option with different zoom levels, ranging from 8-32km R07: All improvements above integrated R08: Major update. New user interface, obstacle warning with data from XContest is now supported (and recommended). The firmware is now almost identical to R05 from Maxx II. Please take note that the internal memory mapping is different, that's why the eeprom get's deleted when upgrading from R07 to R08. Control all your settings after the upgrade! And download the newest airspaces including obstacles from https://airspace.xcontest.org/ Choose only the airspaces, and when exporting for XC Tracer you can activate "I have a new firmware" and then choose the obstacles there. For those that use a remote control there will also be an update for the BLE firmware. In order to make the RC work you need to install this BLE update too. R09: BLE Connectivity Integration. To enable BLE connectivity, please follow these steps: Install XC_Tracer_Maxx_R09.iap. Then, install XC_Tracer_Maxx_BLE_240726.bfw. Once this is done you can then create an account at https://my.xctracer.online/. Here you can configure the vario, do firmware updates, update airspaces and download flights. For iOS devices, you will need to install the "Bluefy" app. For all other devices, use Google Chrome to ensure proper functionality. The airspace library got updated so that it will work with V2 version airspaces from XContest (small bug fix). Added security function to BLE connectivity. Now a Maxx II can only get registered to one account. Once a Maxx II is registered to an account then it is only possible to connect this Maxx II over BLE using this account. Deleting the vario from the account will reset this safety feature. Own latitude / longitude / altitude is now shown in Menue / Logger & Tracking. Important: The Flarm obstacle database is no longer supported! The obstacles are integrated in the data from XContest. Use the webapp my.xctracer.online to donwload airspaces and obstacles.
